How Länsförsäkringar and Agria fit together for horse insurance: the multi-policy discount, local service, and why, in practice, you are comparing Agria’s terms.
Länsförsäkringar owns Agria, and for many customers horse insurance in practice runs through Agria’s products. This page explains the relationship, when LF is worth considering, and how to compare – without mixing up two different sets of terms.
Agria is a wholly owned company in the Länsförsäkringar group and specialises in animal insurance. When you, as an LF customer, want to insure a horse, Länsförsäkringar will as a rule point you to Agria. The terms you are comparing are therefore Agria’s horse products – not a wholly separate LF horse policy.
The discount does not automatically make Agria the right choice for you. It can, however, move the total premium if the terms already fit. Ask for the same quotation both via LF and directly with Agria – then compare with at least one other insurer.
If you are not an LF customer, or if another insurer gives better cover for your horse at a lower total cost, there is no reason to go via LF for the name alone. Compare terms and continuity of cover – not the logo.
Whether you take out the policy through an LF office or directly with Agria, the same basic rule applies: never let the insurance lapse. On a change of owner or insurer, the new policy should start on the same day the old one ends.
Agria is a subsidiary in the LF group. The horse insurance you take out is, in practice, Agria’s product. LF can provide local service and a multi-policy discount.
A multi-policy discount typically applies if you hold home or farm insurance with LF, subject to the terms in force. Ask your local company about your own situation – and ask to see the discount on the quotation.
